Chris Cantell Discusses - Art Live: Art like any other
by Zuzana Fabcinova

It seemed like normal art show opening. Eager children showing their creations to proud parents and other family members & nothing surprising about that. Just those children were a bit different, although not at first sight. After getting to know them closer you find out that their inner struggle with emotional or social disabilities didn't influenced their talent, creativity and pure joy of life at all.Since its foundation in 1950s, Children Health Council School has done almost incredible for children with minor or major disabilities. Disabled Children no longer have to leave their families for an institution where they would be treated like something weird, something to be ashamed of. Children have both presence, support and love of their parents and help and leading of teachers and therapists. The school has provided even more recently & a possibility of self-realization for the children. By creating artistic objects like paintings, sculptures or photographs, they learn how to transform their ideas into reality, or how to cooperate, when they work on group projects. Art also offers a chance to express themselves without words and to present their thoughts confidently to people. Creating art with concentration of whole your mind always make you forget about your own problems and distracts you from reality. And that is what those children often need. And now the school has decided to make an exhibition of more than 200 artworks. Seeing it will make children feel that it was worth the effort, appreciating their works will make them feel useful and will bring hope. And that is what we want, isn't it?

Obama's new staff
by Lenka Filipova

Obama is enlarging his staff by naming new members of the staff. Not very surprisingly, he named on Monday a new senior adviser Patti Solis Doyle,a former campaign manager of Hillary Clinton. He would be responsible for leading the staff of the presidential candidate's running mate chosen soon. Solis Doyle is till this time the only member who was on the opposite side while primaries were held. She will substitute Maggie Williams, who had split with Obama. Solis Doyle is not any surprise to be a part of Obama's campaign. She officially inform about the conversations with Obama's strategist David Axelrod. They discussed the potential of her help to the Illinois senator in a case he would succeed in the presidential nomination. The other members are as following, a recent chief of staff of Senator of Montana Max Baucus. He will now become Obama's chief. Then there is Stephanie Cutter who is going to be his senior adviser and a chief staff to his wife. Before this, in 2004, Cutter was a communication director to Senator John Kerry. The next post is attributed to Jon Carson, whose job will be to direct a national field. And the battleground states director is linked to Jen O'Malley, who used to direct John Edward's operation in Iowa.David Plouffe said that by adding new members to their leadership team, they would even reach more Americans. And he also thinks that these ones with their variety of experience would bring a wealth to the new coalition, thus at the same time to the country.

Chris Cantell Discusses - Sailing Live: Sailing is for everyone
by Barbora Misakova

From time to time I have such moments, when I am thinking how would my life look like if I couldn't for example walk, or couldn't see. I know it is a bit weird, but honestly, who never did so? This is just a way how I help myself to realize how precious it is – to have my own legs, which work and which will take me wherever I want to go. Just imagine it: you don't have to ask anyone to take you to the park or school, you don't have to ask anyone to take you somewhere for the holidays. You can just pack your things into your bag and go where your heart leads you. I know I put it all into a bit romantic frame, but anyway, you know what I want to say. It must be really hard cannot make a move, just a single move. But there are still people who don't want to give it up. One bright example is 36 years old Hilary Lister from Canterbury. This woman suffers from reflex sympathetic dystrophy which lead to final phase in which this woman is not able to move below the neck. While she was sitting at home her activities were limited by her disorder, until she find out there is also another possibility. Her boat Artemis 20 is with the use of high-tech adaptations prepared for use by Hilary. “How?” are you asking. The boat is adapted in special way which enables Hilary to control the boat by using a “sip-and-puff” system of straws. The whole system is based on Hilary's breath, when the pressure of her breath is converted into electronic signals and they control the tiller, sails and GPS navigation system. This way of operating with boat makes from Hilary independent person who can sail by herself wherever she wants. Instead of sailing with no aim Hilary will be next 3 months sailing around the British Isles with hope she will raise enough money for her charity Hilary's Dream Trust which helps people with the same disorder. Hilary, I keep my fingers crossed for you.
